Program and commitments
Mediaocean recognizes that Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) provides a framework for success as a driver of growth and innovation and is critical to achieve excellence. We are committed to serving our employees, clients, community, and the environment to protect human and planetary health. Our ESG and sustainability program allows Mediaocean to meet the growing sustainability values of our clients and enable employees to bring their full selves into their work to create a culture of sustainability in our company.
Our Sustainability team continues to develop and enhance policies and operational controls to reduce our environmental impact, ensure health and safety, and minimize social risk to ensure compliance. The Mediaocean Board of Directors and Executive Leadership team support the ESG team, which reports to our Corporate Operations team. This collaboration ensures that ESG is integrated into Mediaocean's corporate strategy, long-term growth, and legacy.
Mediaocean's ESG and sustainability program has created and adopted global policies, including Labor and Human Rights, Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Corporate Ethics, and a Supplier Code of Conduct. These policies integrate sustainability throughout company operations. Our first comprehensive GHG assessment was conducted with Schneider Electric to measure Scopes 1, 2, and 3 for 2021 and create an Inventory Management Plan as a roadmap to guide GHG inventories annually. We have implemented a variety of office sustainability initiatives, including removing single-use plastics from our offices globally, creating an employee-based Green Team with over 50 members, and adopting an e-waste policy to reduce waste from electronics.
Certifications and initiatives
EcoVadis
We undergo a yearly sustainability analysis through EcoVadis, a leading global provider of sustainability ratings and assessments for companies. In 2022 Mediaocean achieved a silver medal after completing a robust set of ESG policy review, carbon footprint analysis, and intense governance reporting to receive a silver medal. This score was a result of a collaborative effort between various departments at Mediaocean, including Compliance, Workplace Experience, DEI, and Finance, showcasing that everyone at Mediaocean has an important role to play in our ESG journey.
Our goals for 2023 involve improving our EcoVadis score and maintaining our silver medal while we conduct our annual Greenhouse Gas Footprint Analysis to ensure the most accurate and in-depth baseline to set climate goals and reduction targets.
